‘Real Talent' Starts Before Skill at Genesislab [StoryPack-Genesislab ④]
The fourth StoryPack installment frames Genesislab's talent bar: expertise is the baseline; sincerity and shared values are what make it run. The work arrangements and 2023 product milestones follow.
The fourth StoryPack installment poses a blunt question: Who matters more to a company, the technical ace or the business operator? Genesislab’s answer is “both, but sincerity comes first.”
CAIO Daehoon Yoo says the trait that matters most for technical staff is the ability to absorb AI advances in time. The company looks not at raw solo performance but at how engaged someone is in team code reviews and study groups. That learning culture paid off in 2024: ViewinterHR customer count more than doubled through 2023, the Juicy app hit number one in the App Store’s free category within three days, and Dr.Listen shipped its mental health self-assessment module.
The work environment is designed to sustain that pace. Hybrid, remote, and discretionary work run in parallel, and the office keeps fresh snacks and supplements on hand.
CEO Young-bok Lee puts it directly: no matter how capable someone is, if they lack sincerity toward the company’s direction and their colleagues, they are not talent. Expertise and an entrepreneurial drive are the baseline; sincerity and shared values are what let that baseline actually run.
